This position manages all marketing initiatives for GVSU Laker Store and serves as an active member of the GVSU Laker Store leadership team regarding strategic planning, business plan development, and overall store operations.

Primary Duties:

• Maintain websites for GVSU Laker Store & Meadows Golf Course.
  • Update content, advertisements & product placement frequently.
  • Update store hours and announcements.
  • Insure new product photography and inclusion on site.
• Create necessary print media.
  • Write copy, proofread, and submit jobs to printers.
  • Produce in-store marketing pieces and signage.
• Engage customers on social media.
  • Post content and stories frequently.
  • Encourage followers and sharing via interactive promotions.
• Perform market research.
  • Conduct surveys and analyze results.
  • Compile annual report data.
  • Coordinate advisory committees.
  • Research promotions and programs from other retailers & apply to Laker Store operation.
• Coach, teach, and lead a team of student employees regarding marketing, design, and customer service. Oversee scheduling and recruiting of these employees.
• Coordinate promotional calendar & manage projects accordingly.
  • Collaborate with management staff on departmental needs.
  • Manage campus partnerships for event participation and sponsorship.
• Serve as managing supervisor on selected evenings and weekends based on a rotating schedule.
• Perform other duties as required/assigned by leadership.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in a marketing position or retail/college store environment.
• Outstanding leadership, communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrate flexibility, willingness to adapt to a changing marketplace, and function as an effective member of a team.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, public relations, or related field.
• Experience with web design and social media platforms.
• High level of technical aptitude.
• Supervisory and project management experience.

Working Conditions:

• Normal office environment. This is an in-person position as there are supervisory, store opening and closing, and inventory management/loss prevention responsibilities. Some evenings and weekends required. Occasional travel may be required.

Salary & Benefits: $48,000 - $50,000.
