Responsibilities
The Transfer Admissions Counselor represents the University and its image with the utmost integrity, responsibility and accountability. Assists in the implementation of the University's enrollment management plan by fostering relationships and building partnerships that engage specific internal and external constituents. The Transfer Admissions Counselor manages the transfer prospect and applicant pool of students. The Transfer Admissions Counselor develops and implements strategies specific to the successful enrollment of transfer students bridging their academic needs with program offerings of the University. The Transfer Admissions Counselor also acts as the primary in-house counselor providing information sessions to prospective students and families. This position primarily involves the recruitment of transfer students . At times traditional student recruitment will be required . The Transfer Admissions Counselor reports directly to the Assistant Director of Admissions.
Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree supplemented by one to three years of substantive experience in admissions, recruitment, public relations, marketing, sales, counseling or another relevant field. Marketing experience and the ability to implement social media campaigns is desired. Excellent interpersonal skills (written, verbal, phone) and work ethic required. Must be knowledgeable and experienced in the recruitment of student populations and related processes. Travel required; must have a valid driver's license. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Candidates from diverse ethnic, cultural, and social backgrounds are encouraged to apply. may be considered. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish or other) are desirable. The equivalent combination of education and related work experience may be considered.
