The Department of Pharmacology at University of Maryland School of Medicine invites applications for new tenure-track faculty positions from investigators with expertise in cancer research. Given the pioneering work of Dr. Angela Brodie to develop aromatase inhibitors in our department, we are especially interested in individuals who will continue expanding our research programs in hormone-related cancers (breast, prostate, ovarian). Priority will be for candidates at the rank of Assistant Professor, but exceptional candidates at the ranks of Associate and Full Professor will also be considered.

Successful research programs in these areas will strongly complement existing strengths within the department and the NCI Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center to present avenues of collaboration between both basic and translational researchers within the University of Maryland, School of Medicine.

Candidates should hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and have a strong history of scholarly activity. Preference will be given to those with an independent funded research program and whose presence will catalyze multi-PI initiatives within the department. We offer an outstanding intellectual and collaborative environment with highly competitive salary and recruitment packages. All department faculty are members of the Graduate Program in Life Sciences which awards Ph.D. degrees in eight biomedical disciplines (http://lifesciences.umaryland.edu).

Candidates should provide the following information as one single PDF file: detailed Curriculum Vitae, a brief statement of research interests and goals, names and contact information for three references. For a full evaluation, candidates should submit their applications by December 15, 2021 (although applications will be accepted until the position is filled).

All applications should be submitted through Taleo and addressed to the attention of Dr. Stuart Martin.
