GENERAL INFORMATION
The Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for a full-time visiting faculty position in German Studies for the 2025-2026 academic year, beginning in August 2025. We seek a dynamic and versatile scholar who can teach German language courses at the elementary and intermediate levels, as well as literature and culture courses spanning the 18th to 21st centuries. Candidates with interdisciplinary interests—such as Film Studies, Environmental Humanities, Gender and Sexuality Studies, or migration and immigration studies—are especially encouraged to apply.
Visiting full-time faculty teach 3 courses each semester and are eligible to apply for support to present at a conference or attend a professional development program through the Provost’s Supplemental Research Fund. The College will support reimbursement of relocation costs within its published policies. All full-time appointments offer competitive salaries and include full benefits.

Candidates must demonstrate commitment to, and excellence in, undergraduate teaching and inclusive pedagogies as informed by current practice and scholarship in the field.
