ABOUT THE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT:

The Education Department offers majors in early childhood education, elementary education, and child and family studies, as well as minors in secondary education, child and family studies, and education. The department sponsors PBTL and M.Ed. graduate programs in early childhood education, elementary education, special education, language and literacy, teaching of English to speakers of other languages, STEM, secondary education, and others.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

The Department of Education seeks applicants for a full-time, 9-month tenure-track faculty position starting September 1, 2025.

Responsibilities include a teaching load of three four-credit courses per semester, student advising, continuing scholarship, and service to the department and University community. Teaching duties will include early childhood and elementary mathematics methods courses, pre-practicum and practicum observations and supervision, and other opportunities. The successful candidate will also have a demonstrated record of scholarship and will be expected to continue maintaining a productive research agenda. A demonstrated commitment to anti-racist pedagogy, diversity, equity, and inclusion, student/faculty collaboration, and professional growth is expected.

  • Doctorate in education or a closely related field.


Additional Information:

This is a full-time, exempt, benefits-eligible position in the Massachusetts State College Association (MSCA) bargaining unit at a faculty rank commensurate with experience and credentials. Salary commensurate with experience in accordance with Appendix O of the MSCA contract (https://www.mscaunion.org/cbas)
