The Massage Therapy Program Adjunct Faculty member is responsible for teaching both didactic and clinical instruction in the program. Teaching responsibilities include traditional face to face format with online supplement, lab and clinical, instructional and supervision.

Minimum Requirements

Must hold a valid Maryland State Massage Therapist license, and five years of working experience in the massage therapy profession. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally, follow written or oral directions and work both cooperatively and independently. Must have the strength to lift 45 lbs. and the ability to move massage equipment. Adjunct Faculty may sometimes need to work evenings, weekends and attend Community Outreach events.

Teaching experience preferred.

Class Specific Essential Duties

  • Provide didactic and clinical instruction in Massage Therapy, including classroom, laboratory, and clinical supervision assignments.
  • Maintain Maryland Massage Therapy License/Certification
  • Work collaboratively to achieve departmental, divisional or institutional initiatives
  • Maintain scheduled availability to students.
  • Conduct and supervise simulated and community outreach experiences.
  • Monitor student progress in labs and clinical rotations.
  • Follow established rules of the college and the accrediting body.

    Standing under up to 2/3 of the time. Walking under 2/3 of the time. Sitting up to 1/3 of the time. Talking or hearing over 2/3 of the time.

    This position requires lifting: Up to 45 pounds up to 1/3 of the time.

    Vision Requirements: This position has no special vision requirements.

    Supplemental (Retirement Annuities) 403(b) and 457(b)

      The 403(b) supplemental retirement plan is available to all CCBC employees (Adjunct Faculty, Part Time Associates and Full Time employees).
    • Roth 403(b) is a savings feature that is available when you open a 403(b) account. The Roth 403(b) savings feature allows employees to contribute after-tax dollars and then withdraw tax-free dollars from their account upon retirement. The Roth 403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors: TIAA-CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. Adjunct Faculty, Part Time Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save for retirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees may contribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b) post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combined for the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.
    • Deferred Compensation Plan — 457(b) offered through VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. The 457(b) salary reduction authorization form is needed. The form is available on SharePoint Forms/Human Resources Forms.
    Parking
    Free. Must obtain a parking permit from the Department of Public Safety to use on all campuses.
