Schedule

Hybrid schedule as approximately three to five days on-site a month to meet the needs of clinical departments and other institutional stakeholders, as well as Alumni engagement team members. Flexibility required during busy event periods. Adjustments to the number of in-office days can be made based on project demands, team consensus, or otherwise agreed upon with supervisor. Office Hours are M-F 8:00AM-5:00PM with some occasional nights and weekend days required.

Position Purpose

The Associate Director of Alumni Engagement leads strategic initiatives to enhance alumni involvement with the Geisel School of Medicine and Dartmouth Health. This role reports to the Director of Alumni Engagement and includes program development, execution, and volunteer management, ensuring effective engagement, communication, and relationship-building to build support for the Geisel School of Medicine and Dartmouth Health. The Associate Director will oversee a variety of engagement programs and serve as a key liaison with clinical departments and other institutional stakeholders through communications, volunteer opportunities and experiential programs.
The Associate Director plays a crucial role in the alumni team, demonstrating a high level of professionalism during presentations and meetings with volunteers, alumni, residents and retired clinicians. and is responsible for the implementation and execution of alumni programs, planning, and implementation for a wide range of projects, data management, and ensure smooth operation in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Experience
  • Eight years of experience in alumni engagement or institutional advancement, including program development and volunteer management.
  • Demonstrated experience and success in strategy development, project coordination, and event planning
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with social media and communication tools.
  • Ability to manage professional presentations, represent the institutions to groups of varying size, and stand in for members of engagement leadership when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior work experience in a medical and/or higher education setting, especially in GME .
  • Experience leveraging information systems and business practices to enhance alumni experiences preferred.
Education
  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • Design and implement engagement strategies for alumni, residents, fellows, and retired clinicians, aligning with Dartmouth Health and Geisel School priorities.
  • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including Clinical Department Chairs, and collaborate with faculty, staff, and leadership on program and event development.
  • Analyze alumni feedback to refine engagement programs and increase participation.

Program & Alumni Engagement Management
  • Oversee alumni and retired physician engagement programs, both on-campus and virtually, ensuring high-quality events and programming, and seamless execution (e.g., such as trainee, masters, MD, PhD engagement, reunion, online communities, career advising).
  • Designs, implements, and manages strategies to engage resident and fellow alumni, retired clinicians, and current residents, fellows, interns and physician constituents. Additionally, develops opportunities to engage current residents with current medical students.
  • Partner with departments across Dartmouth to create and manage engagement opportunities for residents and alumni, including reunions and regional gatherings.
  • Lead the development of a volunteer program, including recruitment and leadership cultivation.
