Job Summary:
The Associate Registrar for Registration Services is responsible for the registration, leave of absence and withdrawals, and related functions for the Northeastern University global network. Reporting to the Director for Registration Services the Associate Registrar serves as an operational and expert functional member of their team and, as such, will serve as a knowledge and coaching partner to their team by providing support to unit leadership as mentor and trusted enabler of unit priorities that align to organizational goals to deliver core unit functions. The Associate Registrar will be expected to consider their direct process workload and goals as well as reflect the broader team and Registrar's Office and university goals and priorities in their work. The incumbent will manage a roadmap for their cohesive unit and staff that aligns with the University Registrar's operational processes, and coach their team to deliver high-quality, outcome-oriented, globally minded, ever-evolving and improving services that aim to maximize student, advisor, staff, and faculty satisfaction across the network. The Associate Registrar will inspire a culture that promotes agility, creativity, and the development of both industry-informed and cutting-edge ideas and practices. The incumbent will partner with fellow registrar colleagues and broader teams supporting Operations, Solution Delivery & Strategic Reporting, and the Network and Student Services teams, the Provost Office administration, Academic Technologies, the college academic units, Chancellor's Office, network supporting teams, among others. As a member of AACRAO, the Associate Registrar will continuously engage in the professional network to remain current on relevant topics, solutions, regulations, best practices, and cutting-edge opportunities. The Associate Registrar will have two direct reports, as well as oversee temporary resources, as needed.
Associate Registrar responsibilities include:
- Manage and execute operational workflows within their unit for overall learner success and an exceptional learner, advisor, and faculty experience in the areas of registration and scheduling throughout the global network.
- Deliver outcomes for unit priorities, providing necessary direction to Academic Assistants and Assistant Registrar staff to achieve the goals identified by the unit Director.
- Build operational plan to ensure accurate and timely execution of tasks required to plan, prepare, and implement unit activities and services. Unit responsibilities may include a broad range of activities such as time-ticket registration, advisor-assisted registration, block-registration, curated registration, appeal registration actions, I am Here, and other ad-hoc registration tasks.
- Develop a collaborative, meaningful, action-oriented, and overall productive partnership with the advising teams, and other academic and administrative units.
- Ensure continuous process improvement, integrity, documentation, and compliance standards are met within the unit related to registration, leaves of absence, and term/university withdrawals.
- Serve as a partner to academic areas and Provost Office members, Chancellor's Office, and network teams in the areas of registration processes to support the student experience. As part of this partnership, develop and deliver streamlined services. Leveraging data and analytics to provide data-driven recommendations and solutions.
- Enable individual contributing staff and unit peers to deliver business critical organization-wide processes and tasks.
- Prioritize professional development and mentorship opportunities for supervising staff; manage by setting clear goals, expectations, objectives, and measures of success for staff; creating and encouraging an environment that values diversity of thought and experience, equality in involvement and contribution of each team member.
- Serve as an active participant on a variety of registrar and network projects and task forces; participate in discussions regarding current and future trends in opportunities and challenges related to registration services, enrollment, new programs, certificates, degrees, academic and records policies and procedures, and other related topics as they develop.
- As new opportunities and shifting priorities are realized, maintain an agile, nimble, and positive disposition and response, including reprioritization the workload and sequencing with existing initiatives and work.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have many or all the following attributes and demonstrated abilities:
- Bachelor's degree is recommended.
- Minimum 3-4 years of progressive experience in a medium to large research institution, preferably in the Registrar's Office or closely related unit, and ideally with more than one campus location.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver operational recurring workflows for registration and related processes to ensure successful learner outcomes and progress toward degree.
- Demonstrated ability to manage all constituents through shifting workloads and priorities.
- Experienced analytical and creative thinker, one who leverages relationships to get buy-in and support for solutions and enhancements, with a focus on root cause analysis and solutioning.
- Must possess the ability to solve problems creatively and quickly, deescalate situations, maintain curiosity, and demonstrate empathy.
- Experience in supervision of staff, including performance goal setting and building an efficient and rewarding employee experience to recruit and retain a high-performing team.
- Demonstrated proactive and consultative customer and student service orientation.
- Familiarity with state and federal laws, such as Compliance/Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA); experience working in partnership with a general counsel's office; experience with and knowledge of governmental and accrediting agencies.
- Knowledge of operational and project best practices, systems, policies, and procedures in a fast-paced, complex, and dynamic setting, including strong analytical skill and data management.
- An ability to influence, engage, and ignite internal and external staff; inform and contribute to discussions on unit tasks and processes; strong active listening with a presence that conveys confidence, respect, and credibility.
- Strong ability to breakdown company-level objectives to clearly show how they are related to the broader unit's tasks and functions. Able to candidly explain organizational goals, priorities, and decisions in a clear and balanced way.

Maintain and execute successful planning, preparation, and workflows of the varied responsibilities within the areas of registration and scheduling. Develop and constantly seek advances in the delivery of services and outcomes for students, faculty, advisors, and team workload. Embrace and deploy technological approaches to create efficiencies, enhance services, create staff capacity, yield better overall satisfaction. Use data to inform process adjustments, decisions, communication strategies and similar. Shift priorities, workloads, and goals for supervised staff and personal work responsibilities, as appropriate and necessary, to align with and respond to any changes in university priorities and goals. Coach and manage staff performing long- and short-term responsibilities, aligning practices with the vision for team growth and access to resources that enable workflows and production.

Serve and collaborate with academic and administrative offices to ensure area processes and procedures to support stakeholder learner success, mission, and evolving network. Meet regularly with college and network teams, school/college administrators, advisors, Enrollment Management administrators, Student Financial Services, and others to support the ongoing and iterative nature of the work. Seek functional and service feedback from stakeholders in peer and supported units to constantly improve on objective criteria and deliver on requested assistance with tangible outcomes and resolve.

Partner with Registrar's Office teams, leadership, and internal partner units to deliver cross-functional workflows that support the registration process and provides the required data outputs. Support the other unit's work within the Registrar's Office to find the best outcome, considering totality of the work and the student experience. Ensure team and individual staff goals progress throughout the staff performance cycle to meet stated deadlines and outcomes.
