Description


UM Campus Dining invites applications for a Facilities Manager to oversee all custodial staff (fulltime, temporary and student), preventative maintenance, contracted services and minor building/equipment repairs for the Lodge Dining Center.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities


  • Develops, posts and manages all custodial schedules for classified, temporary and student staff for the Lodge.
  • Actively participates in the recruitment, hiring, orientation, training and continued training for all custodial staff.
  • Responsible for the Lodge Dining Center custodial budget including capital, labor, inventory, and operational expenses.
  • Develops and implements annual plans to complete deep cleaning projects for the Lodge Dining Center.
  • Develops and manages a preventative maintenance plan for all weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual maintenance needs of the Lodge Dining Center conducted in house, by UM Facilities Services, or a contracted service, (such as window washing, hood and fire suppression maintenance, building repairs, and all other contracted services).
  • Ensures all cleaning and sanitary standards are met in a safe, efficient manner; assessing, planning and organizing and assigning the work of staff; conducting building inspections.
  • Manages all ordering, receiving and distributing of custodial supplies and equipment.
  • Is an active member of the UMCD Leadership Team.


  • Minimum Qualifications


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two (2) years as a supervisor, or manager, to fulltime employees.
  • Minimum four (4) years directly-related to a combination of: building, equipment maintenance & custodial experience.
  • Demonstrated skill in customer service orientation; interpersonal, oral and listening communication.
  • Knowledge of and ability to organize tasks for team, organize self-directed tasks, time-management and delegation of duties.
  • Ability to maintain proper records electronically and to understand a Profit & Loss report.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft suite; including Outlook, Excel, PP, etc.
  • Knowledge of heating & cooling systems, basic plumbing, basic electrical, kitchen equipment, and basic refrigeration.
  • Knowledge in purchasing and inventory practices/procedures.

  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of a wide-range of kitchen equipment, how it operates properly, and how to diagnose issues.
  • Knowledge of custodial methods, procedures, cleaning equipment and techniques; Missoula County Health Department safety standards and requirements.
  • Proficient in the proper use and maintenance of equipment used in the application of pesticides.
  • Excellent skill in operating, determining maintenance needs of and performing minor repair of custodial equipment.

    Position Number: 101000

    Work Schedule: Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), Hours vary due to needs of unit, 12 months/year

    *This position is not eligible for overtime*

    Probationary Period: Six (6) months minimum
