Position Overview:

Directs and manages programs related to student academic planning, registration, and program completion. Designs and develops resources for students.

Department Specific Essential Job Functions.

The Assistant Director (AD) advances UCO’s recruitment efforts in the Asia Pacific region, with a primary focus on South Korea, by providing strategic support, development, and tactical execution for the Office of Global Affairs (OGA) Strategic Management Team. The AD contributes to enrollment forecasting, trip planning, and budgeting for UCO’s marketing initiatives, particularly during delegation visits. They develop, coordinate, and oversee outreach programs to promote undergraduate study abroad opportunities, presenting at partner universities in the Asia Pacific region and at UCO. Travel includes 4-6 weeks per year to other Asia Pacific countries, along with domestic travel within South Korea and occasional trips to the United States for training and collaboration with OGA. The AD leads prospective student outreach through social media and web platforms, manages relationships with UCO’s educational agents in key markets, and develops or collaborates with the OGA marketing team to create recruitment materials and presentations. They provide administrative and management support as needed while also offering vision and leadership for global competency initiatives in transformative learning. Additionally, the AD represents UCO’s mission and programs to government agencies, foundations, and grant-making organizations in a persuasive manner. Some evening and weekend activities may be required. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications/Experience Required:

A bachelor’s degree in a related field to the position is required, along with at least three years of relevant experience. Requires a strong understanding of fundamental theories, principles, and concepts within their field and demonstrate the ability to apply their expertise to achieve results.

Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and be able to operate a typical motor vehicle.

Qualifications/Experience Preferred:
  • Master's Degree in a related field.
  • Knowledge of International admissions and recruitment.
  • Some knowledge of Korean is helpful.
  • Additionally, familiarity with current marketing platforms is preferred.

The major duties of this job involve connecting quickly with people in a poised, convincing, and enthusiastic way.
This job will entail working at an extremely fast pace while collaborating cooperatively with and motivating others to do their best to complete tasks. This will require understanding people well to effectively motivate them to identify and connect to the UCO mission.
This job will require a strong sense of urgency, initiative, and drive to get things done efficiently and correctly.

The AD will also need to possess the following skills:
Experience traveling overseas and demonstrated ability to work with diverse cultures.
Excellent communication, both written and oral.
Maintain a positive professional image.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to plan and coordinate events.
Demonstrated strong ability to identify, analyze, and solve multi-faceted problems.
