Position Summary:

Perform clinical care to pediatrics patients in the medical genetics and biochemical genetics clinics at the Waisman Center.

Principal Duties:

Duties include inpatient consultations, newborn screening consultation service calls, and outpatient consultations/visits in the medical genetics and biochemical genetics clinics at the Waisman Center.

Teach to a variety of learners, including medical students, residents and fellows. Teaching can occur within the classroom, small groups and lectures, as well as in the delivery of clinical care.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

MD or equivalent, completion of US pediatric residency and relevant fellowship

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Completion of US pediatric residency and fellowship programs. Interest in academic medicine, involving teaching to a variety of learners is essential. Experience in an academic medical setting preferred.

License or Certificate:

WI medical licensure; BC/BE in pediatrics required

Additional Information:

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial Caregiver Check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and then every four years.

Candidates for Associate Professor or Professor rank must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the CT track.
