Job Summary
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Tyler invites applications for multiple tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level to start in January 2025. Candidates in the following areas of electrical and computer engineering will be considered: (i) secure hardware design and high-performance deep learning hardware, (ii) security and hardware for artificial intelligence, (iii) security and privacy in cyber-physical systems, (iv) network intelligence, (v) machine learning and artificial intelligence, (vi) embedded design and electronic design automation, (vii) design and fabrication of microelectronic devices, MEMS, and energy-harvesting devices with applications in medicine, agriculture, and environment monitoring, and (viii) wireless communications, networks, and mobile computing. Outstanding candidates in other areas of research will also be considered. Candidates with post-doctoral research experience or prior experience working on funded research are especially encouraged to apply. Highly qualified candidates may be considered for Rising STARs funding of up to $300,000 through the University of Texas System Science and Technology Acquisition and Retention (STARs, https://www.utsystem.edu/offices/academic-affairs/stars-program) program to support the establishment of new research programs. Candidates will demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and research and the ability to build and grow research collaborations. Successful candidates must demonstrate a strong potential to establish and grow sustainable externally funded research programs.

- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses
- Participate in curriculum development
- Develop and grow research programs
Required Qualifications
- An earned doctorate in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a closely related. Doctoral candidates who plan to graduate before the above start date will also be considered.

Additional Information
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code Section 51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire.
