Job Description

The Senior Program Manager of Financial Aid Training is a member of the senior leadership team within the MU Student Financial Aid office. The position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive learning and operational support structure for the Student Financial Aid Team. This role oversees onboarding, training, and knowledge assessments to ensure staff are well-equipped to perform their roles effectively. Additionally, this position manages information and resources for online platforms such as, but not limited to, the Student Financial Aid website and our customer service intranet knowledge base (i.e., Tiger Wiki). This position plays a key role in ensuring office efficiency, regulatory compliance, and high-quality customer service experience for students, families, campus partners, and external constituents.

Primary functions include, but are not limited to:
  • Conduct weekly team trainings and build and execute competency-based knowledge
  • Ensure training materials and assessments remain current, relevant, and aligned with regulatory requirements and office procedures
  • Create and continuously update and improve training programs to provide onboarding and ongoing training for new and current team members
  • Manage the Student Financial Aid website to provide accurate, timely, and user-friendly financial aid information
  • Oversee the continued development and management of the intranet knowledge base (i.e., Tiger Wiki) to ensure accessibility to critical policies, procedures, and resources for the customer service team.
  • Manage certain compliance functions, such as but not limited to, development of the Cost of Attendance (COA), updating the Net Price Calculator (NPC), and operational timelines for key milestones
  • Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations so we remain administratively capable, assist with policy and procedure documentation, and provide backup in key areas
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Shift

M-F, 8 am to 5 pm, occasional evenings and weekends

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience working in a financial aid office
  • Experience in creating and executing training programs
Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $59,000 - $64,000 yearly

Grade: GGS-011
