JOB SUMMARY:
Research Engineer to conduct interviews, focus groups, usability studies, and associated data collection for DoD sponsored projects. Leads data analysis effort, manuscript preparation, mentor undergraduate lab members and non-engineering staff. Prepares monthly and quarterly reports, and serve as a liaison with National Guard entities. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
60% - Essential - Works with subject matter experts to quantify and predict required knowledge, skills, and abilities for future military positions. Conducts knowledge elicitation interviews and focus groups to identify gaps in existing technologies and procedures.
10% - Essential - Supervises, maintains, and inspects technical equipment; completes necessary repairs and upgrades. Ensures all equipment meets industry and DoD standards.
10% - Essential - Recruits and schedules study participants at various National Guard locations. This requires visiting multiple National Guard facilities to educate Soldiers about research activities
10% - Essential - Mentors students and lab staff on DoD structure and protocols, TTPs, soldiers' equipment, etc.
10% - Essential - Ensures protocols and safety expectations are congruent with military policies and procedures.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's Degree - Engineering and experience related to the use of the DoD's maintenance information systems, and military related data collection. Familiarity with FAA air worthy inspection protocols, with Gurobi optimization within Python coding environment.
Licenses: Drivers License Class D normal < 26,000
Work Experience: 10+ years
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's Degree - Industrial Engineering.
Experience: One year working or volunteering with a research group. Current or previous service member, previous experience with military vehicle and aircraft maintenance, with controlled or classified information and operational security, with organizational and work center management.
Licenses: Previous or current military driver's license with flight line authorization.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Expected Salary Range: ($ $46,700.00 - $ 75,000.00)
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
