Education Requirements: To apply for this position, you must be a current Harper College Student, enrolled in at least six credits per semester (three for the summer).
Schedule: Schedule will be based on student’s availability to work during the office operation hours. Additional work hours may be available at other times to assist with testing, registration, and/or event preparation.
Maximum hours per week: 20
Office Hours:
Monday: 8:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Tuesday - Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
General Function:
- Provide general assistance as determined by the department.
The Liberal Arts division provides transfer ready courses to students in the areas of English, humanities, language, linguistics, communication and philosophy.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities :
- Front desk reception which includes answering telephone calls, assisting callers, and assisting walk-ins.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as but not limited to filing, copying, organizing documents.
- Provide information and assistance to ESL students regarding classes, registration, and other resources.
- Provide information about application requirements to become an international student.
- Coordinate and schedule appointments for ESL advisor and International Student coordinator.
- Support office staff in preparing testing rosters, course packets, and other office needs.
- Support the language lab on testing days as well as regular days when needed
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Other duties as assigned.
