Qualifications:
TRS 489: Wealth, Poverty, and Economic Justice (3.5 semester units)
This course focuses on the Bible, the sacred scriptures of the Jewish and Christian peoples, texts that have had a profound influence on religion, art, politics, and culture for over two thousand years. This course introduces learners to the most important biblical texts and themes, focusing especially on the Torah and the Gospels, and teaches learners to employ critical, scholarly tools for reading and interpretation. In addition, this course focuses on a special issue, theme, or question relating to wealth, poverty, and economic justice that appears in a diversity of biblical texts and moves beyond the Bible to modern relevance and implications.
The BALOS department at Saint Mary's College seeks to hire a per-course adjunct to teach an upper division course in theology and religious studies Candidates should be comfortable in a student-centered teaching environment with an interactive learning style. Work in a highly collaborative and cultural diverse classroom environment. Strong commitment to undergraduate, liberal arts education.
Masters degree in related field
Experience with college level teaching
Candidates should also demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate, liberal arts education; be comfortable in a student-centered teaching environment with an interactive learning style; comfortably work in a highly collaborative and culturally diverse classroom environment. Strong commitment to undergraduate, liberal arts education. Candidates must reside in California.
All work must be completed in the state of California.
Salary: $6,480-$10,007 dependent on qualifications. The salary range for this position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available here.
