The Department of English seeks to appoint a senior lecturer on
fiction. The appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2026, but
may begin January 1, 2026. The senior lecturer will be responsible
for teaching four undergraduate courses, typically writing
workshops. Additional duties include advising, grading senior
theses, and service on departmental or other committees. The
position is for five years and renewable contingent upon review and
approval of the divisional dean. Professional experience teaching
fiction is required. Senior Lecturers on fiction must be
well-established, practicing artists, with an artistic record
equivalent to the scholarly achievement of a tenured associate or
full professor, who have also demonstrated an exceptional teaching
