Postdoctoral Associate

Summary

The individual in this position will perform research to develop applications of deep learning and conventional image processing to electron cryo-microscopy and electron cryo-tomography data. Several tasks will be targeted, including annotation of CryoET tomograms, target localization and identification and macromolecular dynamics in both CryoEM and CryoET. The latest methods in GPU acceleration such as JAX/TensorFlow will be applied to produce tools for data annotation and interpretation. Developed tools will be rigorously tested against standard data sets, published and disseminated (GitHub & Web) to the community. The postdoctoral researcher will have the opportunity to gain experience with deep learning and GPU acceleration and how they are applied to image processing, as well as further experience with publication and academic software distribution process.

• Establishes new research protocols and procedures.
• Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals.
• Maintains laboratory operations.
• Supervises research staff.

Minimum Qualifications

• MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
• No experience required.
