Summary
The Department of Neurology at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated Clinical Operations Supervisor. This role will report to the Senior Practice Manager and supervisor clinical support staff including Medical Assistants and Patient Support Service Coordinators. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced leaders who are change agents and strategic thinkers who have the leadership skills to inspire teamwork and excellence. The ideal candidate will be able to leverage previous experience to implement new and updated processes to support operations.
Job Duties
- Supervises the daily clinical operations of a unit including, but not limited to, physician schedule oversight, quality improvement, patient satisfaction, clinical efficiency, and physician support.
- Manages 6-10 Medical Assistants, Live Answer Coordinators, and Patient Support Coordinators.
- Supervises staff, to include: Assigning tasks, checking work at frequent intervals, maintaining schedules, establishing goals, training, providing feedback on performance, professional development, and on-going performance evaluations. Approves time-off requests and ensures accurate reporting and compliance with college policies. Ensures staff complete their work queues, In-basket, referral shells, and Rx refills.
- Contributes to the implementation of process improvement goals that support the clinical enterprise, patient access, and clinical reporting.
- Develops and prepares clinical decision support reports for support goals and strategic initiatives.
- Ensures Compliance with College and clinical policies and procedures, including Emergency cart, quality assurance, and safety measures.
- Performs medication inventory reconciliation on an frequent basis.
- Drives care delivery and patient access success through our ‘Live Answer’ workforce.
- May assist with special projects.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Three years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in related field.
- Demonstrated experience in a clinical setting.
- Proficiency in Epic and knowledge of clinical management tools such as Qgenda.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training and certification from the American Heart Association.
- Ability to display a professional and positive attitude.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across the Department.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, efficient, and strong organizational skills.
