General Schedule
Position typically works 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Position Overview
Provide guidance and counseling to students in matters related to financing college, academic goals, choice of curriculum, course load, study habits, and course scheduling. Assist with student orientation, whether freshmen or transfer students. Serves as a liaison between students and various campus resources utilizing a holistic approach to student success. Identifies enrollment barriers for students and works with internal and external stakeholders to assist students in navigating University processes. Respond to requests concerning the interpretation of program policies and procedures. Assist in developing policies and procedures for the operation of daily activities.

Job Duties
  • Serve as a Money Coach, guiding students to develop a personalized financial plan and effective financial education strategies.
  • Counsel students on reaching educational and personal goals.
  • Assist director with supervision and training of student workers and maintaining flow of OneStop services.
  • Acts as Case Manager for students, guiding through the entire student funnel. Has high levels of training and knowledge in all areas of Enrollment Management, including Financial Aid, Enrollment, Admissions, Graduation Services, and Student Records.
  • Acts as primary contact for Late Withdrawal, Emergency Withdrawal, and Bursar Appeal processes, and maintains regular contact with students in the associated cycles.
  • Applies experience and knowledge to decision-makings processes involved in Enrollment, Student Records, and other student-centric situations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of specialized projects for success of specific cohort or to address student barrier.
Qualifications/Experience Required
Requires a bachelor's degree plus 2+ years of relevant experience, or 4+ years of equivalent experience that provides knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.

Qualifications/Experience Preferred
Master’s degree. Prior academic advising/counseling experience and/or prior experience working with college students. Familiarity with admissions, enrollment, and/or financial aid processes at the University of Central Oklahoma or in an institution of higher education setting and its undergraduate degree programs.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledgeable in the higher education attainment process, particularly the requirements and general value of education. Must be able to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to multitask and work well under pressure. Ability to spend a majority of the day on the computer. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Actively foster and maintain a climate that is supportive of students and demonstrates Student Affairs Standard of Care. Willingness to work within the academic framework of the University and to serve on faculty and student committees. Must be proficient in basic mathematics.
