Johns Hopkins, founded in 1876, is America's first research university and home to nine world-class academic divisions working together as one university.
We are seeking a Research Data Analyst to support the Knowledge-to-Action (K2A) Initiative and lead its patient-focused research activities and use cases. The Research Data Analyst will support research projects focused on patients, their care partners, and equity, including three active research efforts: narrative elicitation and analysis of diagnostic problems and mistakes; patient-reported measures of diagnostic excellence; and artificial intelligence for screening, diagnosis and risk prediction on a global scale.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct literature and data reviews using various sources.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
- Contribute to manuscript and proposal development.
- Coordinate project teams.
- Support development of the new center.
- Create reports summarizing K2A initiative impacts and work with team to develop recommendations for initiative improvement.
- Participate in the preparation journal articles and conference presentations.
- Communicate findings to key collaborators.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with ongoing and new collaborators.
- Manage quality assurance and completeness of implementation of research protocols, study measures and datasets.
- Proactively seek to improve or optimize workflow and discuss with PI as appropriate.
- Plan, execute, and track data management tasks in accordance with project timelines.
- Develop an early-stage dashboard or similar structure to track K2A program progress on outcomes to facilitate progress reporting to future funders and collaborators.
- Apply highest ethical and university standards for safeguarding personal identification information of study participants and any other identifiable data.
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience with REDCap and/or Qualtrics.
- Experience with internet and web-based scholarly search engines (e.g., Scopus, PubMed & Google Scholar).
- Experience with training development.
- Proficiency in the use of software applications and databases including MS Office, Zoom, Teams, etc.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment.
- Ability and willingness to perform organizational and administrative duties.
- Ability to connect with community partners and build collaborative partnerships.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
- Three years related experience.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in related field.
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods, including experience with development and implementation of tools.
- Experience with evaluation of programs and initiatives.
- Experience with data management and tracking, including dashboard creation.

Starting Salary Range: $48,000 - $84,100 Annually ($55,000
targeted; Commensurate with experience)

During the Influenza ("the flu") season, as a condition of employment, The Johns Hopkins Institutions require all employees who provide ongoing services to patients or work in patient care or clinical care areas to have an annual influenza vaccination or possess an approved medical or religious exception. Failure to meet this requirement may result in termination of employment.
The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
