DEAN, LUBIN SCHOOL OF BUSINESS, PACE UNIVERSITY

The Lubin School of Business is a bi-campus institution located in New York City and Westchester at the gateway to the financial district with a rich tradition of developing business leaders across a range of industries. The mission of the school is to develop students' analytical, organizational, and personal competencies in a comprehensive academic and experience-based learning environment dedicated to preparing students to successfully begin and advance in their chosen professional careers. Pace is ranked #1 for upward economic mobility, in the top 9 percent of private colleges that provide the best ROI on tuition, with 76,000 local alumni, and with 93 percent of undergraduate students employed or continuing their education in 2023 (the latest data available). The school is dually accredited by the AACSB for business and accounting. A key differentiator of Lubin is its experiential learning opportunities in the greatest metropolitan area in the world with a vibrant network of alumni.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Dean will provide academic vision and leadership to, and will work collaboratively with, Lubin and University faculty, students, staff, administrators, and other professional schools and colleges to develop and enhance undergraduate and graduate programs to meet the changing needs of organizations and drive enrollment. The Dean will be a relentless advocate for the school internally and externally and work to enhance its reputation.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Capitalizing on the school’s past accomplishments and planning for its even more robust future, the successful candidate must possess the vision, leadership, and creativity to influence the direction of Pace’s business education program.

Ideal candidates will have many of the following experiences and qualifications:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience at an organization of commensurate size and scale, including management of large and complex budgets. Administrative experience as the Dean, Associate Dean, or equivalent level at a private, not-for-profit higher education institution or other executive experience.
  • An understanding of the critical issues in business education, contemporary business practice, and the needs of today’s students, faculty, and executive leaders.
  • A strong commitment to shared governance and servant leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus and resolve conflicts with transparency.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and broad experience working with diverse communities.
  • Strong track record of attracting and retaining diverse and excellent faculty, administrative, and staff talent.
  • A Ph.D. in a business-related discipline, or an M.B.A., J.D. or other advanced degree with strong senior public or private executive/CEO experience.

The Dean of the Lubin School of Business will be appointed to a five-year term, renewable upon the completion of a comprehensive and successful performance review. Dependent upon strong academic credentials, the Dean will be eligible for tenured appointment to the Business School faculty.

COMPENSATION

$350,000-$415,000 based on skills, experience, abilities, and organizational needs. In addition to the annual salary, Pace University offers a strong benefits package.
