Job Description
Job Summary
The Director, Assessment, under general direction, provides leadership, development, direction, oversight, and support for assessment efforts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Implements instruments to assess student achievement and
curricular effectiveness.
- Develops feedback mechanisms to improve these measures and
establishes a timetable for student achievement.
- Develops and implements a systematic outcomes assessment plan
and oversees and coordinates the programmatic assessments,
including research and clinical practice services.
- Identifies and refines instruments and methods to assess
program effectiveness.
- Develops and maintains an electronic data warehouse of
assessment information and reports.
- Collaborates with faculty and administration in mapping and
auditing curriculum.
- Provides methodological expertise in the construction of data
collection instruments.
- Develops ongoing relationships with faculty members and other
stakeholders in order to foster and support a culture of
assessment.
- Administers the budget and oversees the fiscal operations of
assigned department.

Minimum Requirements
- Education - Master's degree in applicable
field.
- Experience - Ten years of related experience.
- Supervisory Experience - a minimum of three years
supervisory experience in a similar work environment.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be
considered.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Ph.D preferred.
- Direct expertise in postsecondary education assessment, data
analysis and educational outcomes.
- Experience managing and using assessment software
systems.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize and analyze quantitative and
qualitative data and prepare and present reports
effectively.
- Experience with institutional accreditation and the
standards/criteria related to assessment and
effectiveness.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Word processing, spreadsheet, and database
applications
Ability to:
- Multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Institutional accreditation and standards related to assessment
and effectiveness.
- Postsecondary education assessment models and
processes
- Quantitative and qualitative research design and
analytics
- Survey design, methodology and implementation
Ability to:
- Manage and use assessment software systems.
- Prepare and present reports effectively.
License/Professional Certification - None

Salary: $76,000/annually
