Baruch College invites applications for the Finance Manager position at the Controller’s office. This position reports to the Finance Controller.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise non-tax levy accounting, tuition and fees, and continuing education programs, revenue accounting to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting within the CUNYFirst system.
- Ensure the integrity of financial data by providing ongoing oversight, reviewing financial transactions, and facilitating the resolution of any issues that may arise.
- Collaborate with the bank reconciliation analysts to resolve discrepancies and streamline the reconciliation process. Ensure the timely approval and completion of monthly bank reconciliation statements to minimize errors and mitigate risks associated with inaccurate or incomplete reconciliation.
- Lead and manage a team of multiple employees, providing guidance, task distribution, and support to ensure efficient workflow, clear accountability and meeting key financial deadlines.
- Serve as a liaison for inquiries from various departments and the CUNY Central Office, ensuring prompt, accurate, and clear communication of financial information.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, ensuring timely and accurate completion of non-tax levy financial reports and audit requests. Coordinate audit preparation and respond to audit queries to ensure compliance with audit requirements and minimize delays during the annual audit process.
- Ensure adherence to financial policies, regulations, and audit standards, driving compliance in all financial reporting processes. Review and implement procedures to improve compliance with relevant financial guidelines and prevent potential audit issues.
- Oversee the processing of Non-Tax Levy checks and ACH transfers through the CUNYBuy and CUNYFirst systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with institutional policies. Manage the processing of account and ACH transfers within the CUNYFirst system, ensuring timely and accurate transaction execution.
- Direct the month-end, mid-year, and year-end closing processes within the CUNYFirst system, ensuring all financial records are accurately closed and reported on time.
Compensation and Benefits:
$96,202 - $110,641; Salary commensurate with education and experience.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and six years' related experience required.
Other Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role.
- Experience using CUNYFirst, CUNYBuy or similar financial management systems is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in leading a team, including staff supervision, task delegation, and performance management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with internal departments, external auditors, and CUNY Central Office.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, including leading month-end, mid-year, and year-end financial closings.
