Job Summary
We welcome applications for a lab scientist. This research-focused position will involve the MRI-based measurement of in vivo strain, material properties, and relaxometry in musculoskeletal soft tissues – cartilage, meniscus, and ligament – to predict the progression of osteoarthritis. A key effort of the position will involve the development and clinical translation of new imaging methods and an MRI-compatible loading device to study cartilage health following reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament. The anticipated start date is January 21, 2025.

The Soft Tissue Bioengineering Laboratory at CU Boulder focuses on imaging-based methods to understand cellular biomechanics and mechanobiology. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
The candidate will develop, validate, and test an MRI-compatible device to load the human leg within an MRI scanner.

The hire rate for this position is $24.00 per hour.

What We Require
A candidate with a PhD and background in biomechanics or imaging is preferred. The candidate will be expected to develop a strong understanding of experimental applications of magnetic resonance physics in the context of tissue structure and function, and work with a highly interdisciplinary team of basic scientists and clinicians.
