Job Description:

The Enrollment Bursar Director is a key financial leader responsible for the execution and oversight of processes related to tuition and fee revenue collections at Baruch College. This role requires a highly organized, strategic, and collaborative professional capable of managing financial operations, directing team workflows, and representing the Bursar’s Office in institutional and system-wide initiatives. The Bursar ensures alignment with the requirements set by the City University of New York (CUNY) and drives operational excellence within the office. This position reports to the Assistant Vice President for Finance.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Directs, and oversees the acceptance of payments, deferment billing, and the processing of refunds due to overpayments, ensuring alignment with best practices and institutional goals.
- Manages student accounts, providing consultation and clear guidance to students with questions or concerns.
- Executes the established processes for the collection of third-party receivables from governmental agencies, employers, and Job Training and Placement Act service providers.
- Oversees the transfer of unpaid student accounts to collection agencies for further action.
- Responsible for serving as the primary contact between students and the New York State Higher Education Services Corporation (NYSHESC) for programs such as TAP, Part-Time TAP (PTAP), and Excelsior.
- Represents the Bursar's Office in discussions with various college departments, communicating complex financial matters in clear, understandable terms as they relate to CUNY’s financial systems and policies.
- Participates and contributes to the Bursar Working Group (BWG), collaborating with other CUNY Bursars to implement changes and resolve operational issues.
- Represents the College at University-wide meetings, including the monthly Bursar Council meetings, to provide support and guidance relevant to the Bursar’s Office while engaging in discussions of key issues and collaborating with Central Office and other college Bursars to develop solutions.
- Maintains effective collaboration partnerships with Administration, Registrar, Financial Aid, Controller’s Office and other ancillary offices
- Develops and establishes effective team workflows and provide leadership to ensure the delivery of best practices in all operations.
- Directs and manages the 1098-T process to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Supervises and mentors team members to maintain high standards of service excellence and compliance with university policies.
- Provides leadership to ensure the implementation of best practices across all Bursars operational areas as well as foster a team-oriented environment that encourages professional growth and accountability.
Compensation and Benefits:
$124,656 to $141,858. Salary commensurate with education and experience.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and eight years' related experience required.
