Job Description
The Department of Social Work at Fort Hays State University is accepting applications for a nine-month Non-Tenure-Track social work faculty position, available at either the Instructor or Assistant Professor rank. This position requires face-to-face teaching responsibilities on the Fort Hays State University campus in Hays, Kansas.
Responsibilities:
Nine-month non-tenure track position consisting of 75% allocated to instruction, 5% allocated to scholarship, and 20% allocated to service. The annual required teaching load is equivalent to 30 undergraduate credit hours. Service includes providing services to the community, the profession, the university, the college, and the department. Scholarly activities relate to one’s area of expertise and knowledge and include the pursuit of the scholarship of teaching, learning, and engagement.
Required Qualifications:
- An MSW from a CSWE-accredited program and at least two years of post-MSW social work practice.
- A Social Work License must be obtained before the appointment.
- Commitments to viewpoint diversity, culturally competent education, and working with rural communities.
- Teaching experience at a four-year institution of higher education.
- Experience teaching in a CSWE accredited program, and online teaching experience.
- Candidates with or interest in obtaining an earned doctorate.
- Candidates who have extensive practice experience, and/or are clinically licensed.
