Description
Dr. Jonathan Zrake's research group invites applications for a postdoctoral position at Clemson University, Department of Physics and Astronomy. This position comes with a competitive salary, university benefits, and travel funds for conferences. Postdocs will have the opportunity to co-instruct a course if they so desire and will also benefit from collaborations with astrophysics and astronomy groups within our department, and with researchers at other universities in the US and Europe.

About the PI Lab, Department, & University The research of Dr. Zrake's group broadly includes topics in computational and multi-messenger astrophysics. The research to be carried out for this position specifically includes predicting the electromagnetic and gravitational wave signatures of black hole binary systems, observed in gravitational waves by LIGO, pulsar timing arrays, and future space observatories including LISA. Qualifications
All candidates with a background in computational astrophysics are encouraged to apply. We are particularly interested in candidates with one of the following experiences:

(1) numerical simulation of black hole accretion dynamics;

(2) modeling of gravitational wave sources;

(3) expertise in algorithms for the simulation of relativistic fluids or plasmas.
