This position will start in August 2025. The position is mainly targeted at tenured Associate Professors or Professors. Candidates should possess a comprehensive understanding of the principles, procedures, regulations, and standards relevant to the position. They must demonstrate short- and long-term planning abilities, problem analysis and resolution, and report preparation and presentation. Effective interpersonal and organizational communication skills are essential, both oral and written. Additionally, candidates need to develop and maintain strong working relationships, keep accurate and organized records, exercise independent judgment and initiative, and coordinate and oversee activities effectively.
The department head will teach 6 credit hours during the academic year, engage in scholarly research, and service to the institution. Position responsibilities include supporting the Dean in the administration and evaluation of academic programs. Foster academic achievement and student satisfaction in alignment with established educational objectives, quality standards, and fiscal prudence. Supervise and evaluate assigned staff members. Assist in the development and management of budgets within areas of oversight. Actively seek and encourage the pursuit of potential funding sources for the college. Serve as a liaison between the college and the university community, as well as with community agencies, businesses, advisory committees, and regional and national organizations. Ensure compliance with regulatory, corporate, and Department of Education guidelines. Pursue and maintain program approval from licensing agencies and regional and national accreditation bodies. This position reports directly to the Dean.
