Salary Range: Commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Hours: 40 hours per week, exempt.

Essential Functions

A full-time non-tenure track position is available in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Texas at San Antonio.

We invite applicants for a full-time Assistant Professor of Practice position. We are seeking candidates in Rehabilitation Science. Individuals interested in the Assistant Professor of Practice position should have a passion for teaching and mentorship, with a strong emphasis on practical, hands-on experience in the field.

Responsibilities
  1. Teach undergraduate courses related to rehabilitation science (90%). These courses may include Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation, Therapeutic Modalities, Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries, Musculoskeletal Anatomy or other similar courses within the undergraduate curriculum.
  2. Mentoring and advising students.
  3. Engaging in service activities (10%) that contribute to the mission of the department and university.
  4. Supervising the athletic training internship program. This position will be responsible for helping to coordinate the clinical experience of students within the athletic training specialization.

Required Qualifications
  • Terminal Degree in Kinesiology or a related field (Ph.D., DAT, DPT); or a master's degree and exceptional experience as a clinical athletic trainer/physical therapist.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience teaching college level courses.
  • A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience as a clinical athletic trainer and or Physical Therapist.
