About the Opportunity:
Northeastern University's College of Professional Studies (CPS) is looking for a temporary part-time professional to oversee the hiring and management of CPS student employees on the Boston campus.
The university is unable to sponsor for this role, now or in the future.
Job Description:
- Coordinate with Program Leads across the NU global campus
network (across U.S. and Canada) to identify courses needing tutors
each academic term.
- Coordinate with Academic Operations to identify Livecast
courses (located on West Coast and Boston) needing proctors at the
beginning of each academic term.
- Fulfill faculty requests for proctors to act as substitutes in
the courses on an as-needed basis.
- Post job listings for all open student employment positions
(e.g., tutors, proctors, etc.) at CPS on Workday.
- Screen applicants and recommend qualified candidates for
interviews by relevant faculty.
- Once a candidate has been selected, process the hire on Workday
and assist the candidate as needed with any required steps to
complete the hiring.
- Assist international student employees with completing USCIS
Form I-9.
- Support onboarding and training of new student hires once
hiring is completed on Workday.
- Serve as student employees' main point of contact throughout
their employment.
- Manage student employees' Workday profiles.
- Review and approve weekly time submittals on
Workday.
- Administer end-of-term feedback surveys and self-evaluations
for student employees' performance reviews.
- Assess student employees' needs, demands, and
productivity.
Key Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with students in an academic
setting is strongly preferred.
- Access to a private computer with reliable internet connection,
Google Chrome browser, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe
Acrobat.
- Proficient MS Office skills required.
- Experience with Workday is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Canvas is strongly preferred.
- Ability to download institution VPN and utilize multi-factor
authentication.
- Experience leading or coordinating people and
activities.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational
skills.
- Strong commitment to teamwork and ability to take
initiative.
- Strong interpersonal communication (both verbal and
written).
- Computer skills and experience working with databases and
student management systems.
- Knowledge of the process for completing USCIS Form I-9 and
applying for SSN through SSA preferred
Additional Job Description:
- This position averages 20 hours per week, with more time per
week required prior to the start of each academic term. The
compensation for this position is $27.00/hour. The anticipated
start date for this position is late January.
- Applicants must have a bachelor's degree.
