Position Summary
Southern Utah University seeks a dynamic and enthusiastic Tenor or Baritone performer and teacher for an Assistant Professor of Voice position. This versatile artist and educator must have deep experience and knowledge in a variety of performing styles, be comfortable in preparing students to work in a diverse and multicultural environment, and be capable of teaching students in a variety of performance-based and teaching-based degree programs as they prepare for careers in opera, musical theater, contemporary music, teaching, and performance. This is a full-time, tenure track position.
First Consideration will begin February 10, 2025, and continue until the position is filled.
Essential Functions
- Teach applied lessons, voice related courses, and other courses
as assigned by the chair.
- Actively recruit in the area, state, and beyond.
- Maintain a positive relationship with music educators in the
region, including active participation in local, regional, state,
and national music organizations
- Other duties as assigned, including committees.
Education & Experience
Minimum:
- Doctorate degree in music.
- Expertise in vocal performance.
Preferred:
- College or University teaching experience.
