JOB DESCRIPTION
The position aims to build a recruitment strategy, building and maintaining employer partnerships with the goal of increasing career-related opportunities for Flagler College students.

RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Employer Partnership Operations:
- Identify, educate and cultivate relationships with industries, organizations, non-profits and business sectors in the areas that historically have had minimal interaction with the College
- Conducts site-visits with employers to promote hiring programs.
- Identifies and develops employment and internship sites.
- Presents to campus community and business community on experiential learning opportunities.
- Develops job shadowing opportunities.
- Increases alumni engagement with students as a part of the employer relations program to create long-term community partnerships.
- Career Development Event Planning & Logistics:
- Administers the on-campus recruiting program and calendar to include job and networking fairs, guest speakers, information sessions and on-campus interviews.
- Develops verbal and written communications in partnership with the Director.
- Develops comprehensive handbook and marketing materials.
- Internship Programming:
- Arranges meetings with faculty and academic department chairs to identify and promote relevant internships for specific majors.
- Facilitates faculty academic approval process for all student internships while supporting faculty internship coordinators, maintain participation data and reports.
- Improve and promote student access to internship opportunities through employer development activities and collaboration with faculty.
- Assists Director in daily office management and student assistants.
- Maintains Handshake employer database and assists students with application.
- Counsels and advises students regarding employment opportunities. Critiques resumes, cover letters, and employment/graduate school applications.
- Represent the office and Flagler College at national, regional, and state conferences and associations as appropriate.
- Performs such other college-related duties/tasks as assigned.
- Assist the Director of the Career Development Center on different committees, events, and programs/workshops to provide a variety of services to the students and extended College community.
- Answer inquires or requests from students and others in person, by telephone, email or in writing.
QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Prior office experience with emphasis on one-on-one interactions required
- Professional and effective verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on active listening skills
- Organizational skills and accurate record keeping/data entry are essential
- Analytical skills for the review of documents and student files
- Knowledge of Word, Excel, using the Internet and report writing skills are necessary
- Patience and empathy for students, parents, and other constituents; must be congenial and respectful under stressful conditions
- Must be able to multi-take and deal with frequent interruptions and maintain a professional, caring persona
- Must demonstrate a strong work ethic and team focus
- Must possess a willingness to implement and/or learn new software systems and remain proficient and current with upgrades and changes
- Master’s degree
- Academic office setting experience
- Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involved sitting most of the time and occasionally walking and standing.
- Climbing, walking, crouching, repetitive motions, and ability to communicate appropriately with students/colleagues.
- Frequent hours outside the normal College work day during peak times and to attend events.
