The PantherDining Hall at Georgia State University is seeking to hire a Catering Manager.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

The Catering Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the catering operations. This includes managing food service for various events, ensuring quality standards, and handling administrative tasks.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Works with the Director of Catering & Retail to supervise the catering operations, such as event booking and setup, pricing, and resolving customer complaints.
  • Coordinates catering plans with the Chef and staff to ensure successful execution of multiple daily events; plans event menus in consultation with the Chef; liaises with suppliers.
  • Ensures that higher education catering brand standards and initiatives are achieved consistently.
  • Directs and guides clients as the initial contact for catering events; interacts daily with customers and responds to customer needs and comments. Negotiates contracts with clients.
  • Organizes, leads, and motivates the catering team.
  • Adheres to applicable payroll and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Assists in facilitating and implementing catering training.
  • Maintains food and labor costs in accordance with unit and department goals.
  • Responsible for the ordering, storing, upkeep, and inventory of catering equipment.
  • Manages the catering vehicle fleet schedule while coordinating multiple events.
  • Ensures that appropriate sanitation, organization, and safety standards are met by using checklists, performing hands-on supervision, and follow up.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of related experience, or a combination of education and experience in food service/hospitality industry.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Valid GA Driver's License.
  • Physical Requirements: Extended standing, walking, ability to bend, stoop, reach and climb ladders.
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds.
  • Ability to work in all temperature conditions.
  • Flexible schedule to include nights and weekends.
