Summary

Albizu University is seeking a Director of Strategic Initiatives for its Miami Campus. This pivotal role reports directly to the Campus Chancellor and combines high-level strategic oversight with operational management and project leadership. The position supports the Chancellor in driving key campus priorities, evaluating new opportunities, and ensuring organizational alignment with Albizu’s mission. The Director of Strategic Initiatives will collaborate across departments to manage initiatives, conduct research, and provide support that advances the institution’s goals in student success, revenue growth, and community engagement.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct internal and external environmental scans to assess competitive landscapes, market demands, and emerging trends in education, with a particular focus on the Miami region and Albizu University’s mission. Lead and support development of business cases for new programs, assessing potential market size, competition, and financial viability. Gather and analyze data related to strategic goals, helping identify critical areas for campus improvement and potential new initiatives. Identify and recommend strategic initiatives to diversify revenue streams and expand Albizu’s programmatic offerings, aligning with university objectives and responding to student and community needs. Manage and oversee the execution of select projects that further Albizu’s strategic goals, from conception through implementation and assessment. Collaborate with campus leadership to assess feasibility and viability of new academic programs, certificates, and other educational offerings. Act as a primary advisor to the Chancellor, providing insights, research, and recommendations on new strategic opportunities. Support the Chancellor’s daily operations by managing communications, drafting reports, overseeing key tasks, and handling administrative duties to ensure the office functions efficiently and effectively. Serve as the main point of contact in the Chancellor’s absence, ensuring continuity of leadership and progress on campus initiatives. Foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, and community partners, to support Albizu’s mission of promoting mental health, cultural competence, and social responsibility.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Business, Higher Education Administration, Public Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, strategic planning, higher education administration, or a related role. Strong analytical, research, and data interpretation skills, with experience conducting environmental scans and developing business cases. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with diverse stakeholders. A proactive, self-motivated attitude and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Occasional travel and the ability to work flexible hours as needed.
