Salary Range: Commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Hours: up to 40 hours per week, exempt.

Essential Functions

Job Summary

Assist coaches in all aspects of annual strength program. Provide professional knowledge, technical expertise and supervisory skills to oversee all aspects of the strength and conditioning programs designated by immediate supervisor.

Responsible for the design, implementation and supervision of yearlong strength and conditioning programs designated by immediate supervisor.

Core Responsibilities
  1. Assist in all aspects of football strength and conditioning program.
  2. Assist in design, implementation and supervision of the yearlong strength and conditioning programs designated by immediate supervisor.
  3. Aid in supervision to athletic weight room.
  4. Aid in supervision of Graduate Assistants, Interns and Work Study Students.
  5. Aid in cleanliness and upkeep of athletic weight room and equipment.
  6. Travel with designated sport team or teams when in-season.
  7. Communicate with sports medicine staff daily.
  8. Communicate with sport coach or coaches daily.
  9. Attend professional development opportunities as approved by supervisor.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in a related field of study.
  • Two years of experience working at a college/university or with elite level athletes.
  • CPR and Basic First Aid certification.
  • CSCS or SCCC Certification.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Division I collegiate and/or professional athletics playing experience.
  • USAW certification substitutes for one year of experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Valid driver's license and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) as applicable.

Working Conditions
  • Ten-to-fourteen-hour days on the floor coaching, on the field coaching and in office.
  • Weekend, holiday and summer hours as required.

Physical Demands:
  • Standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, bending, climbing, jumping and pushing and pulling equipment.

This position will be primarily located on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
