Database Analyst Sr

Job Summary

The team is developing data driven solutions for ophthalmology. To accomplish this several public and private databases are utilized, however significant work in data cleaning and organization are needed. 

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
  • To support this team, the person selected for this role will be responsible for reviewing, designing, implementing and maintaining our internal databases and extracted datasets from external data sources.
  • Data structures must be developed to be organic to include additional data and potentially new categories.
  • The appointed candidate with help identify data sources, constructs data decomposition diagrams, provides data flow diagrams and document the process.
  • They will also support the team through development of codes for database access, modifications, and constructions including stored procedures.
  • In additional to maintenance tasks, the person is expected to have significant experience in development and deployment of data analysis pipelines on local, external and cloud platforms.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

Preferences
Preferred Master's degree in data science, (bio/soft)engineering, STEM or a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

This position will be working with a combination of patient demographic, clinical outcome and genetic data. Knowledge about the structures, limitations and formats for these data types is preferred.

Additionally, experience working with local, remote and cloud datasets is also preferred as well as experience working protected environments.
