Nazareth University announces the opportunity to join a collegial team of faculty who value contributions to the success of students and the department. The University and Department of Occupational Therapy invite applications for a full time clinical assistant professor position to begin August 2025.
Located in the College of Interprofessional Health and Human Services, the Occupational Therapy Department provides a strong sense of community supporting undergraduate and graduate students in the 5 year entry-level BS to MS degree program. The Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (AFWC) provides the occupational therapy program with management and administration of the fieldwork program. As a full-time faculty member, the AFWC procures fieldwork sites, provides development to fieldwork educators, and monitors student fieldwork progress. The AFWC ensures the program’s compliance with ACOTE fieldwork requirements. The successful candidate will have the ability to teach across the undergraduate and graduate occupational therapy curriculum including generalist and advanced practice courses. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, advisement, curriculum development, participation in assessment, service to the Department, College, and University and maintaining an active scholarly agenda.
Required Education, Experience, Technology and Skills
Occupational Therapist with the following:
- Master’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program or entry-level Doctoral degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the New York State.
All candidates should possess excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and computer skills.
Preferred Education, Experience, Technology Applications and Skills
- Post-professional OTD/DOT degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program or an earned academic doctoral degree in an appropriate discipline.
- Must have had initial certification as an OTR/L through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- Previous academic teaching experience.
- Minimum of three years of clinical experience.
