Senior Accountant - Financial Reporting

Summary

Responsible for preparation and analysis of external financial reporting including financial statements and certain tax filings. Ensures that all transactions are made in accordance with GAAP and federal, state, and Baylor College of Medicine guidelines. Reports to the Director of External Reporting and Tax Compliance.

Job Duties

• Prepares and analyzes financial statements, footnotes, and related disclosures for external reporting purposes, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Prepares supporting schedules for the financial statements and related notes.
• Collaborates with other Finance team members as well as others throughout the College to prepare and review support for footnote disclosures to annual audited financial statements.
• Prepares internal financial reports for executive management.
• Acts as a key liaison with external auditors for reviews and audit.
• Develops and prepares assigned tax reports, filings, and payments.
• Performs financial data analysis, as required.
• Provides tax research and analysis, as needed.
• Participates in research of technical accounting issues.
• Prepares ad-hoc requests for analysis and information, as needed.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Experience with SAP
• Intermediate to advance Excel experience
• Strong analytical skills
