Membership Specialist

Job Details

OLLI’s Membership Specialist will provide customer service to our growing OLLI membership base. The Membership Specialist will answer phone calls and provide assistance to members on site. The membership specialist will support OLLI instructors in the classroom with instructional technology needs. The Membership Specialist will liaison with campus and community partners about membership benefits. Some outreach outside of the office on campus and in the community will be required. Work will involve driving, sitting, speaking, standing, walking, and writing.

Duties

Duties include, but not limited to:

1. Provide customer service and support to OLLI members through the OLLI Office. Provide information on courses and membership benefits. Assist with issuing of parking decals for members, membership cards, and other member benefits as necessary. Communicate with members or prospective members in person, by phone, and via email.

2. Register members for courses and take payment for courses, excursions and membership. Resolve questions about registration and payment by providing excellent customer service.

3. Assist with OLLI events as needed.

4. Liaison with campus and community partners to establish and maintain membership benefits. Work with partners to ensure that partnerships are beneficial to all parties.

5. Assist with programming of schedule in CampusCE when needed.

Qualifications

Required : A high school diploma and experience in a customer service setting.

Preferred : A bachelor’s degree, experience in a customer service setting, and experience in an educational setting. Experience in a sales or customer service environment; experience with Word and Excel programs. Experience with promoting and facilitating partnerships with organizations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities : Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal skills; and an ability to work with volunteers and other staff on registration for membership and courses. Knowledge of marketing programs and merchandise. Ability to maintain confidentiality when appropriate and exercise judgment in communication with members.
