Position Summary

DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for general systems administration of servers, storage and applications. Responsible for system level applications to support information technology services on the York College network.

OUTCOMES :
A reliable and secure computing infrastructure to support all academic and administrative technology-related functions

Essential Functions
  • Manage virtual desktop infrastructure. 15%
  • Manage systems applications. 30%
  • Manage Microsoft 365 and Intune. 15%
  • Administration of Windows Server-based systems. 15%
  • Administration of Linux-based systems. 10%
  • Perform hardware and software installations and updates. 15%
Experience and Education Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (i.e., Computer Science, Engineering, MIS).
  • Two years of experience with Unix and/or Linux operating systems.
  • Two years of experience with Windows Server operating systems.
  • Two years of experience managing Windows-based applications.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems in an interoperable networked environment.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Active Directory, and Google Workspace environments.
  • Familiarity with VMware and Microsoft Intune
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work as a team member within the Infrastructure and Security Services Group and with other LTS Groups.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with all levels of users in the college community to maintain superior customer service.
