Duties & Responsibilities
The Facilities Management Planning & Design Department is seeking a Project Manager to join the team.
Position Primary Purpose and General Duties:
This Project Manager will have a primary focus of university projects and VCU Health projects when needed overseeing all coordination and management of capital and non-capital planning & design to facilitate successful completion.
The project management portion of this position includes supervision of architectural firms, engineering firms, consulting specialists, and associated medical center services during the planning stage of construction or renovation projects.
The core management functions of this position include: Developing project budgets, managing architectural and engineering design consultants, managing project schedules, coordinating submission of drawings for permit review.
Qualifications
Minimum Hiring Standards:
- BS in architecture, engineering or related field
required.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills relative to
the construction industry.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Virginia Driver's License required and a good driving
record.
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse
faculty, staff and student environment
- Healthcare facility and construction related certifications
(i.e. AHA/ASHE, etc.).
- Healthcare facility degree programs.
- Familiarity with NFPA 101 and FGI Guidelines and Commonwealth
of Virginia construction process and procurement.
- Negotiation skills; above average written and oral skills;
supervisory and management skills.
