The Institutional Advancement Student Intern is responsible for providing professional representation of the university to all visitors of the Uytengsu Center and support Institutional Advancement staff members in executing daily task.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
  • Support the mission, vision, and strategic plan of Indiana Institute of Technology
  • Respond in a positive manner to telephone calls and interface with university administrators, faculty, staff, parents, students, alumni, vendors, and visitors to Uytengsu Center
  • Screen all visitors entering the elevator accessing 2nd floor and beyond. If visiting the Presidential Suite, visitors must be announced before entering the elevator
  • Assists in planning events on and off campus, such as PowerPoint slide shows, making nametags, and working at check-in tables
  • Represents the student body at alumni and community events by attending designated events, such as commencement and President’s Dinner
  • Contacting donors to confirm meetings and/or attendance at events
  • Drafts letters, makes labels and copies, some data entry, and general office assisting as requested
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Hours are flexible, set up a schedule depending on semester load and class schedule
  • Ideal hours per week: 10-20
  • Optional: Summer and Breaks
Qualifications
  • Must be a current student at Indiana Tech
  • Must be customer-service oriented
  • Must be able to work in a team
  • Understands confidentiality is highly imperative

Experience
  • Has an understanding of and/or ability to learn Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Working Conditions

Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
