Description of Job Duties and Responsibilities

The Director of Enrollment Technology & Operations is the primary systems administrator responsible for the overall function, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the institution’s customer relations management ( CRM ) software (Slate). They supervise an Enrollment Technology Specialist who assists with troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance activities. In addition, they manage the four-person Enrollment Services Team tasked with administering the application and admission process for the institution. The Director of Enrollment Technology & Operations supports the Enrollment Management Leadership Team by collecting, analyzing and reporting on key enrollment metrics and performance indicators.

The following tasks and responsibilities fall under the purview of this position.
  • Functional lead for Slate CRM management to include process improvement, design, and building of new functionalities and workflows
  • Formulates, sets, and monitors key performance metrics pertaining to the performance of Enrollment services systems and personnel
  • Coordinates and collaborates with Information Technology/Application Services on all matters pertaining to the CRM interface
  • Formulates and implements strategies and processes in alignment with Departmental and Institutional Goals
  • Assists in the evaluation and assessment of the effectiveness of enrollment management initiatives and strategies
  • Acts as primary liaison to academic affairs for the creation and maintenance of selective program admissions processes
  • Ensures compliance with Federal, State, and all other applicable regulations as they pertain to student admissions
  • Oversees undergraduate, graduate, and selective program admissions processes and associated data and metrics
  • Acts as the appeal authority for conditional admissions
  • Responsible for confidentiality and security of all pertinent student admissions data and records
  • Other duties as assigned
Key Skills and Attributes for This Position:
  • Leadership and Staff Management: Proven experience in managing a team, including oversight of time reporting, human resource tasks, and professional development of staff.
  • Slate CRM Expertise: Extensive experience with Slate CRM is preferred; alternative CRM platform experience may be considered. Experience in CRM workflow design, implementation, and ongoing process improvement is essential.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Excellent ability to coordinate with senior leadership, academic affairs, student success, and other departments to implement strategies and improve student engagement. Comfortable with presentations and public speaking.
  • Change Management & Training: Skilled in managing change, implementing updates, and providing training to staff and stakeholders on system enhancements and best practices.
  • Data Analytics & Reporting: Proficient in data analytics and reporting, with a strong focus on continuous refinement of key performance metrics, including student satisfaction and CRM efficiency. Familiarity with Power BI is preferred.
  • Project Management: Experience leading simultaneous projects from planning to execution, ensuring timely and successful completion of system upgrades, process improvements, and technology rollouts.
  • Compliance & Security: In-depth understanding of FERPA, data security regulations, and best practices in maintaining confidentiality and security of student data.
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to align the CRM system and Enrollment Management technology infrastructure with the institution’s broader strategic goals for student recruitment, retention, and success.
  • Intellectual and Emotional Maturity: The candidate should be able to effectively navigate challenging conversations, manage stress, and comport themselves professionally in a dynamic work environment.
Minimum Required Education

Bachelor’s Degree Required Master’s Degree preferred (or equivalent, as determined by HR).

Minimum Required Qualifications

Over four years and up to six years of experience; however, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience is acceptable which provides an applicant the listed knowledge, skills, and abilities and the capability to perform the essential functions of the job. Student Information Systems and/or Customer Relationship Management Systems experience (preferably BANNER or SLATE ).

Preferred Qualifications

2 to 3 Years Experience in Higher Education Administration.
