Title: Commons Associate - Service (TQ, FY)
Position Purpose:
The Commons Associate - Service position primarily serves as front line support for the Bates dining program which serves approximately 5000 meals per day to the students, faculty, staff and guests of the college. This position is responsible for following food safety and sanitation procedures and demonstrating positive relationships with individuals and groups with varying backgrounds, perspectives, education and skills.
Job Duties:
- Assists on the food platforms.
- Oversees beverage stations.
- Restocks the choices and cereal areas.
- Assists with cashiering.
- Assists with building duties, room set-ups, etc.
- Ensures that proper sanitation and safety standards are maintained.
- Promotes and values diversity and practices two-way communication.
- Develops an excellent working relationship with other areas of Dining and the institution.
- Maintains the highest levels of customer service practices at all times.
- Attends monthly Dining, Conferences and Campus Events town meetings and monthly sector meetings.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent desired.
- Serve Safe certification preferred.
- A valid Maine driver’s license preferred.
Previous food service experience desired.
