Virginia Wesleyan University invites applicants for a tenure track Assistant Professor of Marine Biology, with a specialization in invertebrate zoology, to begin in August 2025. We seek a candidate that specializes in research in the local area, but is also interested in teaching travel research courses. Candidates will have an earned Doctorate degree. College-level teaching experience and excellent teaching skills fostering student learning from diverse backgrounds is preferred but not necessary. The successful candidate will teach 7 course components, i.e. each lab and lecture, over the academic year.

The campus is located near several high impact research sites including the High Performance Data Facility Hub at Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility, Old Dominion University, The College of William and Mary, and Norfolk State University. Collaborations with these institutions are possible.
