Summary
Research Technician I position is available in Dr. Yang He’s lab in the section of Neurology in the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine. The research projects in the group focus on investigating the essential neural mechanisms underlying aberrant eating behavior, energy expenditure, glucose metabolism that can cause obesity and metabolic disease. The lab is looking for a committed and self-motivated research technician with strong organizational skills to assist in mouse colony management and various general lab responsibilities. The technician will have opportunities to acquire practical, hands-on experience that will greatly contribute to future career growth.
Job Duties
- Assists in mouse colony management with lab members under PI’s guidance: breeding, weaning, genotyping.
- Coordinates with lab members to conduct research.
- Orders lab supplies, lab organization and maintenance.
- Assists in mouse colony management and various general lab responsibilities.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Associate's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Two years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- One year of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Basic Science or related field.
- Prior experience working with mouse models.
