Summary
Postdoctoral Associate position available in the lab of Dr. Benjamin Deneen. The successful applicant will join a highly dynamic research group with excellent track-record and resources in glial cell and cancer research. They will be employed to carry out advanced independent and directed research to achieve the objectives of the cancer subgroup research projects. Applicants should have expertise in molecular and cellular biology, immunology, neuroscience and mouse modeling.
Job Duties
- Plans and conducts day-to-day experimental activities relating to assigned research projects.
- Uses in depth knowledge of concepts to implement complex research plans, data collection, analysis and evaluation. base and to achieve objectives in creative and effective ways.
- Adheres to experimental protocols required for project advancement.
- Able to manage animal colony independently.
- Retains accurate records of research findings, along with analysis of results, in a detailed up-to-date laboratory notebook.
- Utilizes safe laboratory protocols and adheres to equipment usage guidelines.
- Uses immunology expertise to drive forward the cancer subgroup projects.
- Presents research findings at internal meetings and conferences.
- Provides mentorship and relevant equipment or experimental training to junior staff and students.
- Contributes to scientific literature as well as research proposals and grant applications.
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
- The successful candidate is expected to have strong research experience in the immunology field and have a track record of publications that demonstrate his/her abilities in essential biochemistry and molecular biology techniques and working with laboratory mice.
