Description of Duties

The State University of New York (SUNY) College at Canton invites qualified applicants for a part-time, temporary position in the TRiO SSS Department beginning January 2025.

Responsibilities

Provide tutoring on specific subject areas such as but not limited to algebra, statistics, accounting, biology, chemistry, and physics.
Provide intensive in-person academic assistance and guidance in one-on-one or group settings.
Must be able to work on campus during the academic year, no remote availability will be allowed.
Greet participants and ensure they have electronically signed in and out of the tutoring lab.
Review assignments and homework with participants.
Identify and develop tutorial material as needed.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree with 3-5 years of experience in the area(s) of Math or Science is preferred.
Ability to develop positive rapport with participants and campus faculty/staff.
Proficiency in Mathematics, Science.
Excellent communication and organization skills.
Tutoring experience.
Ability to work with multiple students at once.
