Description
The School of Computer Science and Data Analytics ( SCSDA ) in the College of Arts and Sciences ( CAS ) at the University of New England ( UNE ) invites applications for an open rank, tenure-track faculty position in Mathematics and Statistics beginning August 4, 2025. The successful candidate will join a collegial, engaged team of faculty and professional staff in a school offering programs in computer science, data science, mathematics and statistics.

Responsibilities
The school seeks candidates to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels courses in mathematics and statistics, including advanced courses aligning with the candidate’s expertise. The typical teaching load is the equivalent of 9 credits per semester.
The successful candidate is expected to develop an active, independent research program that results in peer-reviewed dissemination of the work, and to seek external funding. Additionally, the successful candidate will also engage in curriculum development and participate in academic advising, recruiting, course and program assessment, and service to the school, college and University.
Qualifications
A Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, Biostatistics, or closely related field is required at the time of appointment. Candidates must also demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching, advising and mentoring. Applications are particularly welcomed from candidates in interdisciplinary areas where the use of mathematics and statistics are of great importance. The successful applicant will demonstrate capacity for excellence in teaching and promising record of scholarly productivity.
